Cwm Pennant Fell race

8 hardy souls took part in a raid to deepest, darkest Wales yesterday for the Cwm Pennant fell race.

This, only the second year it has been run, was blessed with good weather, but was made somewhat more difficult by some low hanging cloud on a crucial section of the course, which necessitated map and compass work and a good bit of swearing by some members of the racing contingent.

A superb days racing was had in some of the best terrain North Wales has to offer, away from the beaten track, and topped off with tea and cake at the end.

Oh, and Tim, John and Chris won 2nd team prize behind locals, Eryri… or as Math decided to announce us, 1st Derbyshire team, beating Dark Peak.
