Road Challenges and Races

Let’s get out and pound some tarmac! Important note: these route are on open roads around Glossop and completed at everyone’s own risk. Extreme care should be taken at all times, especially when crossing any roads. Remember: a PB isn’t more important than your safety.

  • Glossop 5
    A punishing 2-lap course starting from central Glossop. This race attracted a lot of local talent with some astonishing 5 mile times.
  • Moorfield 5km
    Probably a starting and finishing point for many challenges, the pub. This time the Beehive on Hague Street. Taking in a loop of Derbyshire Level, don’t forget you’ll need a bit to push up Cliffe Road at the end, maybe with a sick bag at the ready.
  • GDH 10km Time Trial
    A relatively regular Thursday handicap time trail whenever any feels like organising it. A straight forward loop around Glossop, with a punishing climb up Park Road to Cemetery Road towards the end.
