The Scafell Pike results are now out and show that Caity Rice not only shared the Jack and Jill trophy with Chris Jackson but also won the Queen of The Mountains trophy with her performances at Snowdon and Ben Nevis also counting. Chris also finished 5th in the King of the Mountains trophy competition. Great running yet again by the Padfield pair!
The English Fell Running Championships tables were updated after the final counter at Guisborough 3 Tops and confirmed Caity in 4th position overall, the same position as last year. Beryl Buckley also finished 4th in the LV65 category. These results represent a magnificent achievement competing against the best in the country and the club is very proud of their efforts. Well done Caity and Beryl!
Caity at Coniston
Kirsty Johnson smashed her PB with a 1.24.15 clocking at the ROBIN HOOD HALF-MARATHON. Zoe Barton came home in 1.32.45 and Alan Scholefield in his debut at the distance finished in 1.38.52
Chris Jackson was 7th in 37.07 at the THIEVELEY PIKE FELL RACE
Caity Rice edged ever closer to a sub 3 hour marathon with a superb 3.03.57 time at the BMW BERLIN MARATHON
Well done to the Clapham Crew for completing the ENDURER DASH!
John Hewitt competed at the TWO BREWERIES RACE running from Traquair to Broughton in the Scottish Borders. John finished 40th in 3.51.10 and has now completed the necessary races in the Scottish Long Classics Series, a significant achievement after suffering earlier injury problems. Well done John!
Parkrun Corner
Saturday saw the inaugural Glossop Parkrun in Manor Park. Many thanks is due from all the local running community to Dan Ellingworth for making this happen.
Several of the harriers were helping out at the event but 21 of the club also ran it with some excellent preformances, Jill Wood setting the bar for other ladies to beat. Special mention for David Munday who smashed his all-time Parkrun PB by over 4 minutes! Elsewhere Ben Tetler was 2nd at Stamford Park and Jamie Helmer 3rd at Marple.
Chris Jackson ran 40.51 and Mary Jeal 55.26 at the tough NETHERTHONG 10K
Several harriers and friends competed at the RAB MOUNTAIN MARATHON held in Snowdonia in the tough ground of the Glyderau and Carneddau. Tim Culshaw and Alec McVey finished 9th in the Long Score, Paul Skuse and partner 84th. Elanor Swan and partner were 31st in the Short Score class
Clive Smith ran 1.49.08 and Malc Brown 2.13.08 at the MACCLESFIELD HALF MARATHON
