- Early December Weekend
Several harriers participated at the 3rd counter of the MANCHESTER AREA CROSS-COUNTRY LEAGUE at BOGGART HOLE CLOUGH. On a very stormy afternoon in very heavy conditions there were many excellent performances. Caity and Kirsty, both returning after injury lay-offs were 2nd and 6th respectively, the Senior Ladies team came 4th out of 32, and everyone kept running to the end picking up useful team points in what is the most competitive XC league in Greater Manchester. Chris Jackson had a tremendous run yet again to be first harrier home and there were some great battles between Jamie and Steve, also Matt and Andy as is shown by their times.

The HOKA ONE STOCKPORT 10 was the final counter in the Club Road/Trail Champs. Five of the thirteen harriers who raced were doubling up after the cross-country the previous day. One of these was Jamie Helmer who had a fantastic run to be first harrier home. There were many excellent runs and close competition for champs points as the year draws to a close. The bad weather eventually relented and good times were posted. Glossopdale results:-

Road/Trail Champs, Age-Graded Champs and Overall Champs tables updated. Just next weeks XC at Heaton Park and the final Oldham and Lyme Parkrun points to be allocated and added.
On a busy Sunday twelve other harriers raced at the GRAVY PUD fell race. This year all proceeds were going to the Pancreatic Cancer charity, in honour of the late Bill Fox, a second-claim member of Glossopdale in the past. It proved to be a fantastic weekend for the ladies with Jude (1st F45), Elanor and Jenny in her first fell race clinching the team prize. Tim Culshaw was first back chased home by John Hewitt. Hamish Haynes running his first race for the club was 3rd man back and the three just missed out on the men’s team prize which went to Sale. John Stephenson doubling up after his XC the previous day had a fabulous run and finished strongly. Lawrence had a nasty fall sustaining facial injuries but courageously completed his race. Well done to all. 25 harriers out competing on a December Sunday morning in the two local races is very good to see. GDH results:-
