We have been busy runners this week…lots to report, lots of congratulations to many for PB’s, successful ultra races, prize winning and a Bob Graham Round completion!

Crow Hill Reverse; Tuesday 4 August (full results)
Lawrence Fennelly, 131st in 48.54 mins in this 5 mile race from Mytholmroyd West Yorkshire.

Cracken Edge Fell Race; Wednesday 5 August (full results)

A massive Glossopdale presence at this local mid-week race. Tim and Al were also part of the Glossop Mountain Rescue Team and succeeded in retaining the Buzz Lightyear trophy awarded to the first MR team to finish (along with fellow MR team member Chris).

Two Inns Race; Saturday 8 August

A note from John: “Very pleased to have completed 2015 Scottish Championships: Birnam (short), Slioch (long), Durisdeer (medium) and Two Inns (long) on Saturday. It was a great A to B route from the coast to Glen Coe via several hills – very rough ground with not a lot of path but some tremendous views. As I’m not Scottish by birth, residence or club I won’t get an official classification but, as a member of Scottish Hill Runners, I should receive a mug!”

Long Tour of Bradwell; Saturday 8 August
A hot summer’s day for this ultra race around the Peak District – 34.5miles with around 2100m ascent. All Glossopdale runners finished safely with prizes going to Tim and Caity. Positions before names are the overall position. Special thanks to Matt, Sue, Chris, Jud & Becky and Lynne’s mum for the support out on course.

Parkrun Corner: Woodbank (Lawrence Fennelly and Dan Ellingworth); Oldham (Emma Peters); Marple (Charlie Eaton (new PB of 19:38), Joanne Brack, Neil McGraw, Carl Buckley, Helen Stafford, Beryl Buckley); (Mark Ollerenshaw in 1st position with a new PB of 18:46).

SUCCESSFUL Bob Graham Round: a very special mention for Zoe Barton who completed the round this weekend in a superb time of 23:35. Well done!!
