New Years Weekend Catch-Up

Several Harriers were lucky enough to have snapped up much sought after places in the AULD LAND SYNE fell race near Haworth. Great running by all, Chris was 1st back for the club and Sue Clapham was 2nd LV50. Results:-

Matt Huxford 29th (49.33), Nick Ham 135th  (59.54) and Mary Jeal 250th (71.51) ran at the BOWSTONES FELL RACE in Lyme Park. As at the ALS, every finisher receives a commemorative bottle of beer.

There was a good turnout of harriers at the popular, keenly contested HIT THE TRAIL race organised by Belle Vue Racers in what was a very muddy Reddish Vale Country Park. Chris Jackson continued his excellent form with a superb 2nd placing, Caity was 1st lady, Neil M 1st V40. Glossopdale were also popular winners of the Ladies Team prize with good packing by Kirsty, Jo Brack, Rachel Higginbottom and Mary Jeal. What a fantastic start to the 2016 racing season!

Parkrun Corner

Lots of harriers out and about at various venues over the seasonal break including Glossop, Woodbank, Colby, Stamford Park, Sheringham, Stretford and Marple. Special mentions for Anne McBride for another PB in Manor Park, Neil and Caity for doing the New Years Day double at Glossop and Marple as well as running in between the two parks, and to Kirsty, Caity and Neil for achieving all-time parkrun PBs at Stretford
