  5. Weekend Round up 21-22/2/15

Lovely weather this weekend. Hail. Snow. Sun. Wind. You name it, we seem to have run in it.

Saturday was mainly the domain of the Park runners, with a fair few battling against the elements in Lyme park. There was quite a performance from Alan Schoefield with his first ever 5k, hitting sub 24mins. Others out in the cold included Caity, Chris, John S, Rod Holt, and Andy Burnett, also, Jill Wood romped around Marple in a pretty decent time as well.

One of our number, the ever intrepid Neil McGraw joined more than 2000 others in the National XC champs in the far reaches of London, doing himself proud coming in 1192th in 56:57. Good effort, both in terms of going down there, and also in battling through the crowds!

Sunday

Crazy legs Stockport trail Half was well attended by GDH’ers this year. There were quite a few PB’s going around as well – I hope I’ve marked them all down – if I haven’t drop me a line and I’ll correct myself.

1. Ben Riddle 1:14:09 (Salford Harriers)

37. Kirsty Johnson 1:30:58 (PB) (1st lady)
49. Zoe Barton 1:34:31 (PB) (2nd lady)
50. Ian Mcgarry 1:34:35
226.= Elizabeth Dowd 1:57:36
= Vicki Hamilton
229. Alison Holt 1:58:08 (PB)
250. Jayne Moreton 2:01:53
293. Dan Ellingworth 2:10:43

The women also took home the womens team prize – excellent effort all round!

Ilkley Moor was the target for Chris and Caity this Sunday – the results aren’t out at the moment, but Chris said that the mens was won by Simon Bailey (probably in some fantastically fast time), and the Womens was won by Caity, who ran superbly, and was well up in the mix with the blokes… and nearly beating Chris as well. Actual results and times will be posted when they are announced.
